The 2010 tour has ended. Thank you dearly for all thousands of enthusiastic visitors!Click to see programme in Norway and Sweden!Click to see programme in Finland! The world's most acclaimed vocal ensemble The King's Singers from United Kingdom gave 12 concerts in Scandinavia in April and May during their 2010 Nordic tour. In 2009, The King's Singers were awarded a Grammy for their album 'Simple Gifts', and in the following Scandinavian concerts the enthusiastic audience receipted with long standing ovations. Whatever the music, The King's Singers are instantly recognizable for their spot-on intonation, their impeccable vocal blend, the flawless articulation of the text and incisive timing. The ensemble has existed for 42 years, during which time there have only been 22 King's Singers, including the current six. Very few, given the demanding nature of the full-time job with more than 120 concerts a year worldwide. It requires a unique blend of musicianship, vocal ability and charisma, not to mention the stamina to be on tour for nine months of the year. In a single concert the repertoire can range from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary pop and whatever the genre, the group always finds a way to arrange it for their six voices, and to perform it with style and often with a masterful sense of humor to the great delight of the audience which sometimes even laugh aloud. The King's Singers maintain a deep commitment to make new choral music and have commissioned over 200 works from a wide range of prominent contemporary composers. During their 2009/10 season The King's Singers will give concerts at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in England, while an extensive touring schedule will take them to the U.S. and throughout Europe. They will also give concerts in Japan, China, Taiwan and South Korea. In addition to their sold-out concerts worldwide; The King's Singers share their artistic abilities with many singers through numerous workshops and masterclasses. They have clocked up phenomenal sales of sheet music with over two million pieces of print in circulation, and these arrangements are sung by schools, choirs and ensembles throughout the world. On the group’s website www.kingssingers.com latest news and blog entries, information on concert dates, streaming audio and video, YouTube and Tweets can be found. But above all it is their simple enjoyment of what they do that has captured the imagination of the public all over the world. As the London Times puts it, they are “still unmatched for their musicality and sheer ability to entertain.”
